A Year End Gift of Charity
By this time next week, we will all be making preparations to usher in 2012! If you are thinking about a year end gift to a worthy charity, I have the perfect one!
Last week, The CEO, The Soon To Fly The Next Girl and I all attended charity:water’s annual charity:ball! We have been long time fan’s and supporters of this amazing organization. They continue to amaze us. In the last five years they have brought over 2 million people clean water that would have otherwise been drinking from disease laden watering holes that are often a day’s trek on foot through dangerous terrain. Look what they have accomplished in five years and be amazed!
Through our various business pursuits we have been privileged to help fund the drilling of several wells. What an honor to be able to participate in helping bring such a basic life sustaining need to families around the globe. We consider ourselves blessed.
For us, business has a vital role to play in the world. This is part of it. Now, through our newest and brightest business, RENDI, we hope to continue to participate to the best of our ability in this worthy cause.
Rendi Goes To The BIG APPLE!
This week was filled with such fun and adventure! We introduced Rendi to twelve, YES 12!, publications in NYC! Sort of like the 12 days of Christmas in two days! (And yes, all the while in heels!)
Monday was packed full with appointments! GLAMOUR, BRIDES, PEOPLE Stylewatch, FITNESS, InStyle, and TEEN Vogue! It was SOOOO much fun to have Maddie, my Soon To Fly The Nest Girl, with me all day! She got a sneak peek into the world of publishing!
Tuesday morning we went to KIWI, ROMANTIC COUNTRY, SMALL ROOM DECORATING, FRESH COTTAGE and GUIDEPOSTS.
It was GREAT FUN to see the positive response to Rendi’s products and to start relationships with these national publications. We’re really hoping that Rendi gets some product features in 2012 so that all of our amazing Stylists will have other women knocking down their doors to jump on board!
A Little Christmas Drama!
I thought I would take a break from SOUL FOOD cards this month and share some fun and EASY festive Christmas ideas with you this month! I hope you enjoy
I know that you all know that one of my favorites quotes is “Write it on your heart that the ones you love are life’s most precious gifts!”
It was one that I wrote in the midst of raising kids, participating in the carpool, going to soccer games and growing a business to remind myself of the really important things in life!
Well, I just took that quote to a new level! Ho ho ho! Here is a super easy Christmas decorating idea that gives a room or a wall and whole new festive look in just a few minutes for only a few dollars. I just wrapped all the pictures of my family up like gifts, including the one with that special quote on it!
“It’s A Wonderful Life” Scrapbook Frame
I apologize for the lack of posts this week! Seems as though I was swept up in the flurry of a holiday frenzy! Right after a delightful and full Thanksgiving weekend, I dove right into decking the halls! Ho, ho, ho- not so much! Seems I needed to get rid of the dust bunnies first!
I began making all my lists and then I just had to STOP and get a grip… After reading a post from one of my new favorite blogs, The Inspired Room by Melissa, about relishing the moments of the season I found myself back being thankful for the many people in my life that make my life my one wonderful life!
Being a visual person, I am always needing physical reminders that take me back to the ones who bless my life abundantly! I call this my scrapbook frame- it’s a low tech fun way to have a revolving picture frame that holds lots of photos of all the wonderful people in my life!
